Resumen

This article is aim to present the main challenges in the managementof the water in the Conurbation of Guadalajara (COG) that maydisplay a starting point for the design and implementation of publicpolicies to solve them. This work builds the theoretical fundamentalsof the sustainable management of water that provide a basis forresolving major issues related to the management of water such as:physical failures of the hydro-sanitary system, management laws relectedon the poor planning and deicient administration of water resources.These challenging issues are compared with the theoreticalcontributions in order to recognize the degree of backwardness andto establish a platform for the approach to new and more sustainablepublic policies regarding water.

José Arturo Gleason Espíndola, Universidad de Guadalajara

PhD is and Associate Research Professor to the Art Architecture and Design College Center(CUAAD architecture) of the Universidad de Guadalajara. Is a Level 1 researcher ResearchersNational System (SNI, for its acronym in Spanish) of the Science and Technology National Council(CONACYT, for its acronym in Spanish). He is the leader of the Faculty (UDG-604) “Managementand Technology for Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism”.
