This work offers an analysis of the formation of the Mexican social statetaking as starting point the original text of the 1917 Constitution. Forthis objective, we present a review of the main reforms implementedover a century by the federal government, giving emphasis on socialpolicies and programs that have marked the development of four majorperiods of history. Starting with the irst Constitutionalist governmentand culminating with the last two administrations that emerges frompolitical alternation; the conclusions ponder about the scope of thecurrent social protection system, accentuating the conditions of exclusionand poverty prevailing in Mexico, as well as the proposals ofthe government in progress and the challenges to be faced to movetowards an inclusive and solidary social policy.Descargas
