Abstract

Some stylized facts and relations appear between the governance andthe economic growth in Latin America. The principal indings suggestthat: 1) In the region, the worst perception recounts to the indicator Ruleof Law; nevertheless, this indicator is the one that best explains governanceat aggregated level; 2) the indicators Voice and accountability,Rule of law and Control of corruption have relationship with the form ofinverted U growth; and 3) the indicators Stability - politics, GovernmentalEficacy and Regulative Quality have linear and positive relations withthe growth. The panel of information includes annual indicators for eleveneconomies during the period 2001-2010.
